ComicSnap is now TrueComix - Same product. Same team. New name that's distinctly ours.

Same product. Same team. New name that's distinctly ours.

We launched ComicSnap in July 2025 for the people, by the people — built for collectors who care about provenance, condition, and the long-term integrity of their collections. Our community responded in spades, with 30,000+ books scanned so far. A real, engaged base of collectors who showed up, gave feedback, and helped us shape what the platform became.

Following our launch, another application changed its name to "ComicSnap" and began trading on the momentum and recognition we'd started to build. To be clear, we are in no way affiliated with any other application using the ComicSnap name.

This overlap created significant and ongoing confusion for our users, our partners, and the comics community as a whole — including misidentification of apps and uncertainty around which product users were interacting with (and paying for). Many collectors wrote to us — to us — asking why their collection wasn't loading, why a scan had failed, why their subscription wasn't pulling up. They weren't using our app. They were using the other one.

So, as the O.G. "ComicSnap," we've made the decision to formally rebrand end-to-end as TrueComix — to move on and distance ourselves, our reputation, and our community from the other application.

Distinctive, ownable, unambiguously ours.

What's not changing

Everything about the product, the team, and the roadmap is exactly where you left it.

Your account, your collection, your subscription, your scans, your vault — all transferred ✨automagically✨. If you had a Fan or Pro subscription under ComicSnap, it's now active under TrueComix with the same terms, the same billing date, and the same access.

  • Our Featured Artist Spotlight series continues
  • Our stance on AI-generated UGC doesn't change
  • The team is the same
  • The Discord is the same
  • Our values are the same

To anyone who was confused

If you wrote to support over the last few months frustrated that your collection wasn't loading, that a feature wasn't working, or that something didn't match what you'd seen — there's a real chance you weren't using our app at all.

We're sorry that happened to you. Part of why we're making this change quickly and cleanly is so that no other collectors have that experience under our name again.

If you're one of those collectors and you'd like to give the real platform a fair shot, our doors are always open.

Internally, we've been calling this a Phoenix arc. Same hero, reborn under a name that's clearly ours. The community knows the trope: the bird burns down and comes back stronger.

What's next

The Marketplace — a flagship feature we'd previewed for earlier this summer — is now launching on July 1st. The rename pushed it back by just a couple of weeks; we wanted to ship the biggest feature we've ever built under the right name, the first time. KYC-verified sellers. Escrow-protected payments. Real chain of custody.

So, with that, we're moving on.

Taking the high road, not interested in trading shots. The comics community has eyes. People know the difference between a real platform and one that under-delivers. Past this announcement, you won't hear us mention them again.

TrueComix will remain intently focused on building a clear, reliable, and high-quality platform for comic collectors — free of naming conflict and user confusion.

If you've been here, thank you for being here. If you're new, welcome. 🙏
